Micro Bird G5 School Bus
The Micro Bird G5 school bus is the flagship Type A school bus in the Micro Bird lineup and a proven leader in safety, longevity and versatility. In production since 2005, the G5 is the largest, most versatile and most fuel-flexible school bus in the lineup, with gas, propane and electric configurations available. Its spacious 96-inch-wide body, 93-inch interior hip width and wider center aisle provide exceptional passenger comfort, with seating for up to 36 passengers in six rows.
Designed with safety and visibility in mind, the G5 school bus features Micro Bird’s More-View™ panoramic design with a fully glazed entrance door and full-length, heavy-gauge galvanized steel side-impact barriers. Integrated child seats and 3-point lap-and-shoulder seat belts are also available for added versatility. For students with mobility needs, the G5 offers ADA-compliant wheelchair lifts from Braun and Ricon, Micro Bird-exclusive dual lift doors for wider access and securement anchorage options.
Gas-powered G5 school bus models are available on Chevy/GMC chassis with a 6.6L engine or Ford chassis with a 7.3L V8, both paired with a six-speed automatic overdrive transmission.
