D-Series Commercial Bus
The Micro Bird D-Series commercial bus delivers versatile performance, passenger comfort and durable construction for a wide range of transportation applications. Designed for tours, schools, hospitals, public transit and shuttle services, the D-Series offers flexible configurations with seating for up to 25 passengers plus luggage. Its extra-wide body and 93-inch interior width maximize space, while available models — including DLX, MD Edition and Specialty — support specialized needs and applications.
Built on a Ford or GM chassis, the D-Series features a 7.3L V8 gas engine on Ford models or a 6.0L gas engine on GM models, paired with or 6- or 8-speed automatic overdrive transmission. With GVWR ratings from 12,300 to 14,500 lbs., multiple wheelbase options and fuel capacities up to 55 gallons, it’s designed for dependable, efficient operation.
Engineered for safety and longevity, the D-Series includes six structural beams, a one-piece galvanized steel roof and aluminum side panels. A wide electric entrance door and large “More-View” windows enhance accessibility and visibility, delivering the flexibility and reliability needed for daily transport.
