The Micro Bird DS-Series commercial bus delivers versatile performance, passenger comfort and durable construction for accessibility-focused transportation. Designed for hospitals, long-term care, churches and assisted living applications, the DS-Series offers flexible, ADA-compliant configurations with seating for up to 12 passengers plus two wheelchair positions. Its extra-wide body and 93-inch interior width maximize space, while accessibility-focused layouts and Para-Transit variations support specialized passenger needs.
Built on a Ford or GM chassis, the DS-Series features a 7.3L V8 gas engine on Ford models or a 6.0L gas engine on GM models, paired with 6-speed (Ford) or 6- or 8-speed (GM) automatic overdrive transmissions. With GVWR ratings from 12,300 to 14,500 lbs., multiple wheelbase options and fuel capacities up to 55 gallons, it’s designed for dependable, efficient operation across a variety of routes.
Engineered for safety, durability and ease of access, the DS-Series includes six structural beams, a one-piece galvanized steel roof and aluminum side panels. A wheelchair lift and securement system provide safe, reliable transport for mobility devices, while a wide electric entrance door and large "More-View" windows enhance accessibility and visibility.
