G5 Electric School Bus

The Micro Bird G5 Electric school bus brings the proven safety, durability and versatility of Micro Bird’s flagship Type A school bus to a zero-emission platform. Built on a Ford chassis with a 600V Ecotuned electric powertrain, the G5 Electric offers seating for up to 30 passengers and up to 200 miles of range on a single charge.

Available with 140 kWh or 175 kWh battery capacity, the G5 Electric supports charging speeds up to 100 kW and is compatible with Level 2 and Level 3 charging. Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) capability can also allow school districts to send stored energy back to the grid. With no oil changes or engine maintenance and reduced brake wear through regenerative braking, the G5 Electric can help reduce maintenance requirements and operating costs.

The G5 Electric features Micro Bird’s More-View^™ panoramic design, a fully glazed entrance door and a 32-inch electric double-opening door for enhanced visibility and access. ADA-compliant wheelchair lifts from Braun and Ricon, Micro Bird-exclusive dual lift doors and securement anchorage options provide additional flexibility for transporting students with mobility needs.
