G5 Propane School Bus
The Micro Bird G5 Propane school bus brings the safety, durability and versatility of Micro Bird’s flagship Type A school bus to a near-zero-emission platform. With seating for up to 30 passengers or configurations for up to five wheelchairs, the G5 Propane delivers proven performance and exceptional accessibility with the potential for lower operating costs.
Powered by a Ford 7.3L V8 engine with the ROUSH CleanTech Gen5 propane fuel system, the G5 Propane delivers the same 350 horsepower and torque as its gas-powered equivalent with no performance trade-off. The system is CARB-certified to 0.05 g/bhp-hr NOx — 75% below the federal U.S. emissions standard.
The G5 Propane school bus offers the same safety, visibility and accessibility features as gas-powered G5 models, including Micro Bird’s More-View™ panoramic design, heavy-gauge galvanized steel side-impact barriers and available integrated child seats and 3-point seat belts. ADA-compliant wheelchair lifts from Braun and Ricon, Micro Bird-exclusive dual lift doors and securement anchorage options are also available to accommodate students with a range of mobility needs.
