XL Series Heavy-Duty Trucks

L Series Medium-Duty Trucks

The medium-duty L Series L6 and L7 Hino Trucks are equipped with the Cummins B6.7L 240-260 hp engine. For the 2021 model, the B6.7 features upgrades that allow for extended engine maintenance intervals, including longer oil drain intervals, more time between fuel filter changes and a completely maintenance-free crankcase ventilation filter.
The heavy-duty XL Series XL7 and XL8 are equipped with a Cummins L9 300-360 hp engine. For the 2021 model, the L9 increases efficiency by minimizing frictional losses and optimizing combustion to improve fuel economy and lower operating costs without sacrificing performance.

The Cummins B6.7 engine found in the L Series trucks has an oil change interval of up to 30,000 miles while the Cummins L9 found in the XL Series truck has an oil change interval of up to 50,000 miles. Depending on the model, Cummins engines have a life expectancy of up to 500,000 miles.

In 2020, Hino announced that it was beginning work on “Project Z”, the manufacturer’s development path to zero emissions vehicles. By 2024, Hino plans to launch zero emissions electric vehicles ranging from Class 4 to Class 8.
In addition, Hino announced the Hino INCLUSEV program in March 2022. INCLUSEV which will provide electric vehicle enablement solutions, including customer EV consulting, intelligent charging solutions, warrantied infrastructure and Hino electric trucks in development.

HinoEdge is Hino’s connected vehicle solution, providing a digital connection between customers, dealers, Telematics service providers and the Hino Ultimate Support Center. Through Hino Edge, customers can use the Case Management system to keep up to date on vehicle recalls, review needed maintenance and be alerted to fault codes. In addition, the Hino Dashboard allows customers to view the location of their fleet, find the nearest dealers and view metrics on key performance indicators such as idle time and fuel economy.

HinoWatch is Hino’s 24/7 roadside assistance program. For the first three years of Hino ownership, customers can receive roadside assistance anywhere within the United States and Canada. Lockout services, battery jumpstarts and information on finding the nearest dealer or service center are included free of charge.
Rush Truck Centers also has a fleet of more than 650 mobile service trucks across the country that can come to you when and where your truck needs service. We’ll get you back in operation quickly or transport you safely to one of our service facilities.
